DPAA Board of Directors fall meeting

 Saturday, September 22, 2012, 12:30-4:30 p.m.

The DPAA Board meets three times annually, in the fall, winter, and spring. The DPAA Board will meet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The meetings are open to any DP alumni who wish to attend, but advance notice is requested to insure seating is available. At the fall meeting, plans for recruiting new DPAA Board members for the upcoming year and the DPAA's annual writing, photography and business contests will be discussed. The meeting will continue from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the students of the DP Executive Board to discuss issues involving the DP how DP alumni can be of service. 27th Annual Steven A. Marquez Journalism Conference

 Sunday, September 23, 2012, 12:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Jon M. Huntsman Hall

This afternoon conference is organized and put on by DP alumni to help current students on the DP staff improve their skills, build enthusiasm for their work at the DP, and for some, learn about journalism-related career opportunities. Concurrent sessions target all editorial areas of the newspaper, including news, sports, 34th Street, and photo & design. If you are interested in participating on one of the alumni panels, DPAA President David Burrick '06.

 Saturday, January 19, 2013, 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

The DPAA Board meets three times annually, in the fall, winter, and spring.  The DPAA Board will meet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The meetings are open to any DP alumni who wish to attend, but advance notice is requested to insure seating is available. At the winter meeting, officers will be elected for the new year, and plans for committees and the year ahead will be discussed. The meeting will continue from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the students of the DP Executive Board to discuss issues involving the DP how DP alumni can be of service. Annual DP Banquet 

Saturday, January 19, 2013, 7:00 p.m.-1 a.m., The Inn at Penn

The annual staff celebration marking the transfer of the newspaper's operation to a new Board of Editors and Managers is open to alumni who wish to attend for a nominal fee. (For information about attending, contact DP Operations Director Katherine Ross.)

At the spring meeting, plans for scholarships and awards, the fall Marquez Journalism Conference, and DPAA membership will be discussed. The meeting will continue from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the students of the DP Executive Board to discuss issues involving the DP how DP alumni can be of service.
