Join the DPAAThe DP Alumni Association provides services to alumni, such as this website -- with news and information about the DP and DPAA, a searchable online Directory of DP alumni, and community discussion message boards detailed alumni Directory (switching from print to online format in summer 2011) -- and casual get-togethers on Homecoming and Alumni Day. It also offers advice and assistance to the student staff of the newspaper through regular meetings and special events, such as the Steven A. Marquez Journalism Conference held on campus each fall. Everyone who has worked for the DP and its family of publications may join the DPAA at the time their original undergraduate class graduates from Penn. There is no cost to register as a member on this website in order to receive periodic emails from the DPAA and to view the public content on the site. DP Alumni are strongly encouraged to become Paid Members of the DPAA. Annual support from members is what enables the DPAA to pay to maintain the website and alumni database and offer its programs for students and alumni. A portion of each year's membership fee goes directly to the DP's Eric Jacobs Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships each year to current DP students to enable them to advance their work at the DP. Paid Members also benefit by receiving access to additional features of the website, such as the searchable DP Alumni Directory and the message boards. If you are an existing DPAA member who has not paid membership dues for the current year, you can pay your DPAA membership dues here. You will gain instant access to the paid-members-only sections of the website. If you are a DP alum who has never signed up for membership and never received any mailings from the DP, you can sign up and create your profile here. Your membership will be verified by our staff, and once approved, you can upgrade to a paid membership for full access to the website. |
